THE WORLD’S FASTEST ZIP LINE GOES COMPLETELY OFF-GRID

THE WORLD’S FASTEST ZIP LINE GOES COMPLETELY OFF-GRID

Exhilarating speeds, new heights and exciting adventures are what Zip World is most renowned for. But now, this acclaimed centre of fun is even more desirable with a new venture into green energy with Transporter Energy’s lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Zip World currently has three locations in Wales, with the main being in Penrhyn Quarry - once the world’s largest slate quarry and now home to the world’s fastest zip line and the world’s largest mobile zip line, along with quarry karting and quarry tours. This is the first location that Transporter Energy will be taking completely off-grid, with much of the security system already running completely free of mains electricity with environmentally-friendly Transporter Energy solutions.

Work is already in full swing and over the coming months this off-grid project will continue, with each generator being replaced by lithium iron phosphate batteries for both a cleaner and quieter energy source. Each 6kV generator currently used by Zip World produces copious amounts of CO2 emissions every hour it is running, meaning Zip World will reduce its Carbon footprint significantly with every generator that is replaced by a battery bank. By the end of the project, Transporter Energy will be powering the full mountain adventures, including the security systems and zip lines.

Whilst a green energy source is one of the most desirable reasons why Zip World has chosen this revolutionary energy source, Transporter Energy’s lithium iron phosphate batteries also allow for other green power sources such as solar and wind power to be incorporated.

Transporter Energy’s lithium iron phosphate batteries have a vast array of uses, from leisure vehicle and marine batteries, to powering emergency services and power backups, the possibilities are endless. What’s more, these batteries are far safer than any other solution out there, with no risk of explosion or overheating.

Justin Richardson, Technical Director at Transporter Energy, commented on the partnership with Zip World, “It has been an exciting year for us here at Transporter Energy with so many new projects taking off, but undoubtedly this is one of the most exciting to date. We’re thrilled to be taking these adrenaline-fuelled activities into a much greener future.

Working alongside such a world renowned company with fun at the centre of what it does, it’s amazing to see them taking a focus on renewable energy, and with the ever-growing demands of the public for green energy, it’s of paramount importance in this world we live.” added Justin.
